Figaro Restaurant is now hiring.

Qualified and Experienced Chef—Italian Cuisine
   Mandatory Selection Criteria:


  1. Must be able to work 6 (six) days per week (minimum 37.5 Hours per week).

  2. Must be able to work core nights (Monday to Saturday including Public Holidays).

  3. Demonstrate at least 3 years full-time contiguous experience in an Italian Kitchen as a Chef or Cook.

  4. Demonstrate trade certifications.

  5. Demonstrate you hold a valid and current Food Safety Supervisor Certification valid in the ACT with the ACT Health Protection Services and in accordance with the Food Act 2001.

  6. Must be reliable and dedicated in their work and the Restaurant.

  7. Must be able to deliver dishes Al-la-Carte to a quality that our customers are accustomed to.

  8. Must be able to work under a great deal of pressure.

  9. Must be able to lead a team within a kitchen, leading by example and harmoniously.

  10. Demonstrate the ability to prepare new Italian cuisine as and when required.

  11. Will be required to demonstrate food can be served fresh and reduce or eliminate waste at all times.

  12. Demonstrate the ability to order efficiently and frugally.

  13. Demonstrate the ability to prepare, skills transfer and lead a team within the Kitchen.

  14. Demonstrate to ability to prepare at least 32 high quality Al-la-Carte dishes (all different) within one (60 minutes) hour of service, without errors to order and without waste.

  15. Demonstrate the ability to order, deal and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best quality at competitive prices, without wasting supplies.

  16. Must speak English

  17. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all staff.

  18. Demonstrate a calm demeanour at all times and whilst under pressure.

  19. Be prepared to satisfy customers tastes and wishes all of the time.

  20. Be prepared to work as directed by Management.

  21. Only candidates with full working rights in Australia will be considered for this role.
